Meeting starts 8pm The Hall is open 7pm, with popular vote starting at 7.30pm
The Group is in it's 24nd year, with an active group of approx 88 members which includes 10 committee
The aim of the group is to promote understanding of the propagation and culture of orchids, to this end we have guest speakers, discussions, and demonstrations at our meetings. Visitors on holidays often drop in to meetings after seeing our information in the local newspaper. We try to have several trips a year & also visit other members growing houses, where there are usually some re potting and demonstrations going on. We have a News Letter that goes to all members a week or 2 before meetings. Members can include any information, often buying, selling and swapping through the magazine Most members come from around Bairnsdale, Lakes Entrance, Paynesville, but we cover an area from Churchill in the West to Merimbula In the East
We hold an Annual Spring Show which attracts considerable public support, and includes cymbidium and all other genera. In addition, we incorporate into our November meeting, an in house Sarc. Spectacular, which is judged by an outside judge, usually one associated with OSCOV. amd we present a perpetual trophy to the winner. We cordially welcome anyone with a love of, or interest in, orchids to contact us through either the President or Secretary.
